About the 9 Days Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lumbini, Pokhara Tour

Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lumbini and Pokhara starts by doing sightseeing in Kathmandu valley. After that, we will visit Chitwan, Lumbini to Pokhara and return to Kathmandu.

Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi district of Nepal. It is largely regarded as the place where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama. Lumbini has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi temple, and others under construction. Also located here is the Puskarini or Holy Pond where the Buddha's mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he, too, had his first bath, as well as the remains of Kapilvastu palace. At other sites near Lumbini, earlier Buddhas were, according to tradition, born, achieved ultimate awakening and finally relinquished earthly form.

Chitwan National Park, a World Heritage site, is a vast 932 square kilometres in size. The Chitwan National Park filled with nature and wildlife follows in the footsteps of the explorers. Enjoy a guided tour in Chitwan National Park, such as elephant safari tour, nature walk or trek in the jungle, canoe ride in the river, Nepali native Tharu village walk and visiting elephant and crocodile breeding centre. It is better to stay in a close group and avoid walking alone while doing a jungle tour in Chitwan.

Pokhara:

Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) (6977m) and the five peaks of Annapurna range rising behind it create an ambience of peace and magic. There are different tourist attraction places in Pokhara to visit so that Pokhara is a place of Nature Beauty. Paragliding is the most pioneer activity in Pokhara.

Itinerary: 9 Days Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lumbini, Pokhara Tour

Day 1 - Welcome to Kathmandu

Once you land at Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu our representative will receive you and transfer to the respective hotel. On this day, you can either rest or stroll around the nearby places like Thamel or Durbarmarg. In the evening, our tour guide will give a short brief about the upcoming tour. Finally, in the evening you can stroll around the nearby hotel area and if you have forgotten to bring any outdoor gear you can buy over there

Day 2 - Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Today after our breakfast we will start our guided tour to several historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites; including the, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple’ Swayambhunath and Buddhists shrine of Boudhanath which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. Along with it we will visit the medieval palaces of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur (if we have spare time). These palaces are rich in stone and wood sculptures glorifying the rich artistic history of ancient Nepal.

Day 3 - Drive to Chitwan from Kathmandu

Today we will drive to Chitwan, Nepal's best known National park, less than 150 km away from Kathmandu. Covering an area of 932 sq km., Royal Bengal tiger, freshwater dolphins, One horn Rhino, Genetic crocodile are the main attractions of this National Park.

Upon your arrival at the Hotel in Chitwan, refreshment break followed by lunch. In the evening, a slow walk to visit indigenous people of this National park with their native, unspoiled tradition & customs. After dinner, visit the cultural programme hall to observe the cultural programme of native people.

Day 4 - Sightseeing in Chitwan

Today will be filled with different types of jungle and non-jungle activities so in other words, it’s a day to have fun and to learn and observe new things.

  • Elephant Safari: A traditional way of exploring the jungle. From the elephants back you can see over the high grass and discover the animals there.
  • Colourful Tharu Village Visit: Experience the culture and traditions of the Tharu people living close to the jungle and wildlife for centuries. In symbiosis and battle with the wild animals. Nature or Jungle Walk: Exploring the area by foot, watching birds, animals and plants. Our experts can take you to good places for spotting a tiger, rhino or any animal
  • Elephant Breeding Centre: we will visit elephant breeding centre where we can see the generation of elephants. (Baby elephants, twin elephants, Trained elephant, untrained elephant and many more)
  • Elephant Bath: At Rapti river, you will take a bath by an elephant. Elephant baths are very good for your health.
  • Canyoning trip: A typical handmade Canoe will take you along the famous Rapti River where you will encounter the Harmless Gharial and the mud drenched crocodile, basking in the sun at the Riverbanks. Moreover, many aquatic birds can be seen on the way.
  • Tharu Stick Dance: A melodious tribal dance performed by men with rhyme or drums and the clashing of sticks. The dance shows how rhinos and other wild animals are scared away from the village.

Day 5 - Drive to Lumbini from Chitwan

After breakfast, we will start our day and drive towards Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. It’s quite a long drive and can take about 3/4 hours. Once we get to Lumbini, we will go to our hotel and freshen up. After that, we will go on your first day of the Lumbini Tour.

Day 6 - Sightseeing in Lumbini

We will start our sightseeing from the New Tourist village and visit the World peace pagoda and museum. After we will visit the Mayadevi temple protecting the ‘Marker Stone’, Statue of nativity scene and ruins of old temple walls. Lumbini has many temples including Maya Devi Temple. There is a pond called Pukarani, where queen Maya Devi took a ritual dip prior to giving birth to Lord Buddha, where he had his first bath. We will visit Mahayani, Teravadi Monastery and Mayadevi Temple. There is another attraction that is Ashoka Pillar, which was built by an Indian emperor after he visited Lumbini.

Day 7 - Drive to Pokhara from Lumbini

The next stop on your tour is Pokhara, a significant tourism destination of Nepal. It is an enhancing city nestled in a tranquil valley, which is also gateway to the world famous Annapurna Circuit Trail. By driving it takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach Pokhara. Once we reach you will be checked into the hotel. Rest of the day we will visit Phewa Lake and go boating around the lake.

Day 8 - Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today is the most important day of our tour because we will be going to Sarangkot, a major viewpoint to see the Himalayas. Early morning we will drive to Sarangkot to view the magnificent view of the Annapurna range, Machhepuchhre, Himchuli, Manaslu and many others. After the sunrise view, we will drive back to the hotel and enjoy our breakfast.

After some rest we will have sightseeing around Pokhara. We will visit Phewa Lake, Devi’s fall, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, Bat Cave, Mahendra Cave, Seti River Gorge and Mountain which are the most popular spots.

Day 9 - Drive back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will drive to Kathmandu which can take 7/8 hours or we also have a flight option which will take about 30 min. After reaching Kathmandu you will be escorted to your hotel and you are free to stroll around Thamel or do shopping.
